MDARRC will endeavor to construct new Research Center Office building in Tagum City to position its presence within the proximity of nineteen (19) active Mineral Production Sharing Agreements (MPSA) issued by the Mines and Geo Sciences Bureau (MGB). The new building to be constructed shall conform to the “green building” guidelines being adopted in the Philippines.
It will likewise improve the existing office building of MDARRC’s Research Station 2, located in Nabunturan, Compostela Valley into a Soil and Water Laboratory and MDARRC’s Research Station 1 located at Amas, Kidapawan, North Cotabato. MDARRC’s Research Station 3 located in Davao City will undertake renovation. Acquisition of equipment for the Soil and Water Laboratory will be pursued.
The Regional Clonal Nursery located in New Loon, Tugbok District, Davao City will be developed into a learning destination and demonstration area that will cater to Research practitioners, students and local government units. The Tagum Clonal Nursery will be the developed into a central nursery for MDARRC while the Nabunturan clonal nursery will remain a satellite nursery. The clonal nurseries shall be used to raise plants that are appropriate for the rehabilitation of degraded areas. The MDARRC Research Station 1 will be the experimental station of MDARRC as it covers around 100 hectares. Existing demonstration areas of indigenous forest tree seed species located at San Agustin, Botanical Garden and Accretion, Area in Apokon, Tagum City, Davao del Norte shall be maintained and protected. It will be enhanced through the construction of a visitor center and establishment of directional signages.
